Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition 2011 The Society's annual exhibition not only features new works by Society members but also selected works by non-members. In June 1891 the society held its first exhibition. It included works by the members and also works from such well-known portrait painters as Sir John Everett Millais, G.F. Watts and James McNeill Whistler.
